As we walk in faith together, we learn and engage.

We connect as we learn. We engage with God’s word, with each other, and our community.  We welcome drop-ins at any of these gatherings.  We hope you’ll join us.

Presbyterian Women (PW for Short)

Acts Circle of PResbyterian WOmen at First PResbyterian Farmington

First Pres has one of the most active PW groups in metro Detroit. We come together to nurture each other, our faith and our congregation.

Our Circles:  There are four PW Bible-Study and Social group “Circles”  at First Presbyterian. These groups come together for special programs, but meet independently and are active in various mission and outreach programs. Find the right one for you:

 A.C.T.S.

(Action, Commitment, Talent, and Service) Meets: 2nd Tuesday in the Parlor at 9:30 a.m.  Coffee and refreshments are served. A sitter is provided with prior notification for a small fee.

We are a warm, friendly and chatty bunch.  One member recently described her fellow circle members as her “small army of friends” who were there with “hugs, food, support — even tissues” whenever needed.

 DEBORAH

Meets: 2nd Thursday in room 208-210 at 10:00 a.m. Coffee & continental breakfast provided.

We enjoy our Horizon study lessons and have lively discussions on the study topic. We are a caring group of women who support each other along the good and troubled times of life. Our active women are very involved in many church activities.

LYDIA

Named after Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth, one of the first working women mentioned in the Bible (Acts 16:11). Meets: 3rd Tuesday in the parlor at 7:15 p.m.  Tea and coffee are provided.

We are a group of caring working women who like to share with each other and support each other.  In addition to using the Horizons Bible Study, we read additional books for discussion.  We occasionally meet for dinner at a restaurant.   We participate in Least Coin, Thank Offering and Birthday Offering, and also provide Christmas gifts to needy senior citizens at the Sanctuary at Mercy Center.

PHOENIX

Meets the 3rd Tuesday evening in various homes at 7:15 p.m. Dessert provided.

We are a diverse group who enjoy each other’s fellowship and support. We are a warm and friendly group joined together for fellowship and study. We are supportive and share both personal and church concerns.

Men’s Fellowship Group

Men’s Fellowship Group provides time when men gather for fellowship, recreation, and spiritual growth via an annual retreat, frequent breakfasts, and field trips.

Learn and Engage while Reading a Great Book

JOY Book Study meets on Tuesday evenings for lively and thoughtful discussion of books related to faith practices and deepening our spirituality.

We also have a social justice book club which meets off-site. Contact the church office about joining in.

Programs for Children

Children and Youth At FPCF - Learning about the garden and compassion

Got kids? We know that means you have joys and challenges.

…especially the challenges of raising children who know and follow Christ.  At First Pres, we think having a supportive community of faith is one of the best things you can do to meet those challenges and raise the Christian family you’ve always wanted.

Our state-licensed preschool  offers an experienced and proven program with an excellent reputation for educating and nurturing young children.
