Meet Our Staff

We’d love for you to meet our staff in person, but in the meantime, you can read a little about them.

Rev. Eddie Jusino –  Senior Pastor

Rev. Eddie Jusino was born and raised in Puerto Rico. After earning his Bachelor’s degree and International MBA, Eddie traveled in Europe and Latin America for Libby Glass. He later settled in Los Angeles where he worked for the State of California’s Dept. of Commerce and the Hay Management.

A time of reflection and prioritizing his life goals led Eddie to see the professional ministry as his true calling. He studied at the San Francisco Theological Seminary and has served churches in Washington, D.C., Iowa, Kansas and New York., before joining First Pres in November of 2016 as Senior Pastor.

Eddie and his wife Pam have two children, Emmett and Charlotte, who live with their spouses in New York and Chicago, respectively.

Joshua ArcheyDirector of Christian Education

Hi, I’m Josh Archey, Director of Christian Education at First Pres. My wife Dawn and I have been active members of FPC Farmington since 2011, and I was ordained as a ruling elder in 2013. We have two children, Peter and Hannah. I studied German and minored in mathematics at Kalamazoo College, and received my MA in German from the University of Oregon. I have taught German to university students, and math and science to K-12 students. I recently became a Certified Christian Educator in the Presbyterian Church (USA).

I love spending time with my family, visiting museums—especially air museums—swimming, and reading a good book.

Dr. Gerald Custer –  Minister of Music

I’m Jerry Custer. I was hired as the Director of Music at First Pres in 2005 and recently was named Minister of Music. I conduct the Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir and Instrumental Ensemble at First Pres and enjoy composing music for them. I live in Farmington and teach music theory and composition at Wayne State University in Detroit and work with private students as well. I enjoy reading, walking, camping, and good coffee.

Karen SpicaOffice / Communications Manager

Hello!  I’m Karen (Stewart) Spica and joined the First Pres staff in May of 2017. I’m a church member who started attending with my family in 1965 and was confirmed in 1969. In spite of moves to California and downtown Detroit, I’ve always found my way back to my church home. I recently served almost six years as an elder before being hired to run the church office. I’m an accredited public relations professional who enjoys writing, event planning and working with local media reporters.

My husband Paul and I live in Farmington Hills. We’re fortunate to have two wonderful children, Tony and Kathryn; both are married and live with their spouses in Los Angeles and Baltimore, respectively.  We recently became grandparents.  Life is good and God has blessed us generously.
